20th-26th August 2017
Anglesey Marine Week is all about getting people to fall in love with our sea, to know more about it and to inspire them to help protect it.
For the past five years, Kathy from Naturebites has arranged a week of marine-themed activities to encourage residents and visitors to discover something new about thesea surrounding Anglesey. From coasteering and kayaking to the edible seashore, rockpooling, coastal geology and coastal wildlife tours, Kathy has strived to offer a mix of activities that span the arts, sport, cuisine and wildlife conservation. Despite individual events being hosted by various generous organisations and businesses, this year Kathy has been unable to pull the event together in her spare time. Undeterred, it is hoped that Anglesey Marine Week 2017 will have a strong online presence and for this reason we’d be super grateful if you would take a moment to ‘like’ the Anglesey Marine Week Facebook page and to keep up to date with our guest blogs throughout 20-26th August 2017.
Kathy will be running a day of dolphin-spotting at Point Lynas on Tuesday 22nd August between 10am & 4pm so you would be very welcome to join her! Kathy works as Sightings Officer for whale & dolphin research charity, Sea Watch Foundation and will be happy to train you up to collect data on these magnificent animals – as well as offering you the opportunity to spot some too!
